During the holidays, as the year softened and came to a close, we lifted our voices together through “Someday at Christmas” by Stevie Wonder. This song is filled with hope, longing, and the dream of a kinder, more united world. Singing it as a community during this sacred time felt grounding, powerful, and deeply human.

The Unexpected Shift

As many of you know, the original plan was to meet indoors at the library across the street. But sometimes plans shift. When we arrived, we learned the doors were unexpectedly closed due to maintenance. Without hesitation and without frustration, we pivoted.

That’s when the true magic of community revealed itself. The incredible team at Femme Fatale DC welcomed us back with open arms. They opened their patio and held space for our voices, our breath, and our togetherness. What could have been a moment of disappointment became a living reminder that when people show up for one another, there is always a place to land.
