✨ Happy New Year — Held by Song, Carried by Community ✨🎶

Happy New Year, dear Sing DC members, spectators, and fans. 💛As we step into a new year together, I want to pause and reflect on a moment that perfectly captured the spirit of this community and why we continue to gather in song.

During the holidays, as the year softened and came to a close, we lifted our voices together through “Someday at Christmas” by Stevie Wonder — a song filled with hope, longing, and the dream of a kinder, more united world. Singing it as a community during this sacred time felt grounding, powerful, and deeply human.

As many of you know, the original plan was to meet indoors at the library across the street. But sometimes plans shift — and when we arrived, we learned the doors were unexpectedly closed due to maintenance. Without hesitation, without frustration, we pivoted.

And that’s when the true magic of community revealed itself.

The incredible team at Femme Fatale DC welcomed us back with open arms, once again opening their patio and holding space for our voices, our breath, and our togetherness. What could have been a moment of disappointment became a living reminder that when people show up for one another, there is always a place to land.

We sang.We breathed.We laughed.We stayed warm through harmony, presence, and care.

Community is key.It holds us when plans fall through.It transports us when we need grounding.It helps us become better, more connected versions of ourselves.

I am deeply grateful for this growing Sing DC community — for every voice that shows up, every heart that stays open, and every supporter who believes in the power of collective song.

As we move forward into this New Year, I wish you peace, health, creativity, and continued connection. May this next chapter bring more harmony, courage, and opportunities to gather — both in music and in life.

We don’t yet know when or where our next meetup will be — but what we do know is this:Sing DC will continue.
