From Scratch: My Live Collaboration with Friends

Hey everyone,

I'm so excited to announce something special! This is the first in a new series of live collaborations I'll be doing with friends in the industry, and I'm fortunate to have my talented former student and friend, Meghan from the band "Cousin," as my first guest.

On August 15th around 1 PM, we're going live on Instagram for a one-of-a-kind collaboration. This isn't a traditional songwriting workshop—it's even better! Think of it as a window into our creative process. Meghan is an amazing Folk, and Alternative Pop songwriter, and I've spent years writing in genres from Bossa Nova and Soul. We’re going to sit down together and show you how two artists with different styles can start with a blank page and build a song from scratch in just a few minutes.

You'll get to see the real-time "give and take" of collaboration: how we bounce ideas off each other, the little tricks we use to overcome creative blocks, and how we merge our unique musical backgrounds to create something new.
